2023 REGION 7 XCEL GYMNAST PRE-SEASON TRAINING CAMP

Where:  Parkettes National Gymnastics Training Center, 401 Martin Luther King Jr Dr. Allentown, PA 18102

                             

Who is  Eligible?  Gymnasts who competed or are planning to compete in the Xcel Program as a Gold level athlete or higher. 200 gymnasts will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.

 

Camp Highlights:

FORMAT: 2 sessions of rotations lead by master clinicians with demonstrated success regionally and/or nationally. Supplemental training events may include running, yoga, dance, artistry, conditioning, and more!


Note: Part 1 will include supplemental events for athletes while personal coaches work with Master Clinicians. Part 2 will include core events for athletes with their personal coaches, with oversight from Master Clinicians

 

Camp Entry Fee: $150.00 per gymnast (includes camp leotard and one (1) meal during camp). Coaches without gymnasts and non-working judges: $50.00

                               

Registration deadline: 9/15/2023 – but recommend entering right away as camp fills before the deadline. NO refunds or guaranteed Gymnast leotards after 08/05/2023.

                               

Clinic filled prior to the deadline last year – so get entries in early! 


Apparel Cut Off:  8/5/2023 to ensure that apparel arrives in time. You can still register until 9/15/2023 but Leotards are not guaranteed,

 

Meals: One meal during camp is included in the registration fee for athletes. Meals will also be provided for clinicians, coaches and working judges.

Registering for 2023 Pre-Season Training Camp

 

Step 1: Registration

  1. Go to MeetMaker Home - MeetMaker
  2. Click on “Camps/Clinics”, In the Search bar put in “PA”
  3. Scroll down until you see Region 7 Xcel Pre-Season Training Camp and select it.
  4. In the top right corner click register now
  5. Select all gymnasts and coaches on Meet. EACH GYMNAST MUST HAVE A LEOTARD SIZE SELECTED FROM THE          DROP-DOWN LIST! PLEASE TRIPLE CHECK THAT THIS IS DONE (Coaches attending without gymnasts and non-      working Judges should follow this same process.) Size Information HERE.
  6. Once the camp is officially closed, we will no longer accept entries on MeetMaker.
  7. To join the waitlist, you must email the Camp Administrator Parkettesmeetdirector@gmail.com a roster with apparel    sizes for both athlete and coach to be added.

Region 7 is excited to announce Xcel Coaches Informational and Spotting Clinic


You asked for it and we have delivered. Registered coaches will get all the latest Xcel updates, attend a Q&A session with judges and clinicians, as well as learn more about the world of NCATA and scholarship opportunities. NCATA (Acro and Tumbling) is a rapidly growing collegiate sport that many Xcel athletes can transition to for college. Coaches will also be able to have hands-on experience learning how to spot!  For only $25.00 this is a can’t miss opportunity. Any club that brings 15 or more athletes can send 1 coach for FREE to the XCEL Coaches Clinic Sunday September 24th 10:00am-2:00pm! Saturday September 23rd, 2023

12:00pm- 12:30pm:  Registration


12:30pm-1:45pm: Gymnasts Welcome and Warm-up

 

1:45pm-2:00pm:  Gymnast Group Assignments


2:00pm-4:15pm:

Gymnasts


Will attend four rotations of auxiliary training that will consist of Handstands and Shaping, Nutrition, Mindful Readiness, and event understanding from region 7 judges!


Coaches


Will attend 4 lectures provided by the camp Master clinicians that will go over not only the important fundamentals but also give helpful tricks, drills and expertise on coaching athletes to the bigger skills.  

   

4:15pm-5:15pm: Dinner Break


5:15pm-5:30pm: Warm-up         

                 

5:30pm – 8:00pm:  Gymnasts with rotate through all four events with their coaches. As a bonus each group will also have a 30-minute dance lesson!


8:00pm-8:15pm: Camp Closes/Parent Pick Up


6:45pm-7:45pm  The Region 7 store opens! Parents you don’t want to miss a chance to snag Region 7 apparel for your athlete at discounted prices. You will be able to get leotards, shirts, pants, sweatshirts and so much more. The store is cash only, so stop by the ATM on your way to pick up your athlete.


2023 REGION 7 XCEL COACHES INFORMATIONAL AND SPOTTING CLINIC

Who is  Eligible?  Any coach that is seeking an opportunity to learn.                                                                                                             

Entry Fee:  $25.00

Clubs that bring 15 or more gymnasts to the Region 7 Xcel Pre-Season Training Camp (held the day prior) can have one coach attend the Region 7 Xcel Coaches Informational and Spotting Clinic for FREE!
 

Coaches  Hospitality: Refreshments will be provided.
